The volunteer roles I hold and a slow-cadence email for the people who want to follow along.

Elected role

Schalmont Board of Education

Trustee · Elected 2023, reelected May 2026 · Term ends 2029

I serve on the seven-member board of the Schalmont Central School District, which covers Rotterdam, Pattersonville, Duanesburg, Delanson, and part of Schenectady. The work that mattered in my first term: expanded Pre-K, the reopening of Woestina Elementary, a Residential Trade Technology program at the high school, a capital reserve fund, and a 1.95% tax levy that came in well under the state cap.

The 2026 reelection campaign is preserved as an archive, with the record, fiscal data, talking points, and the kindergarten origin story intact.

Volunteer

Scouting America, Troop 54

Committee chair · Since 2024

I chair the troop committee for Troop 54 in Schenectady (national charter number 3054). The committee handles strategic planning, adult-leader development, and community engagement, the behind-the-scenes work that lets the Scoutmaster focus on the kids. I also built and maintain the troop website at troop3054.org.

Civic updates

A short, infrequent email when the school board is doing something that affects you, when the annual budget vote is coming up, or when there is a moment worth knowing about. No fundraising, no spam, no algorithmic feed. Maybe five emails a year.
