About
The longer
story.
How I got here, what I actually do, and the people who decide whether any of it matters.
Three years ago I started showing up to Schalmont board meetings because my daughter’s kindergarten class was too big.
I was not planning to run for anything. I just wanted to understand the problem and see if it could be fixed. It could. Parents talked, we worked with the administration, and we got an additional section added the next school year. More importantly, the teachers got more support.
That experience taught me something I had not expected, which is that most things in civic life are like that. The system is not broken so much as it is quiet, waiting for someone to pay attention, ask questions, and follow through. So a year later I ran for the board. I have spent the last two years doing exactly that, and in May 2026 voters reelected me to a second term.
What I actually do
My day job is Vice President of Operations at TalentSmartEQ, where I sit on a four-person Executive Leadership Team and run operations and technology for a remote-first emotional-intelligence training company. The work is heavy on Salesforce, AI agents, and the unglamorous infrastructure that keeps a company running. I like that work.
On the side, I run Mauops, a solo Salesforce, AI, and automation consultancy for small businesses. The same diagnosis works almost everywhere: most companies pay for software they barely use and do by hand the things that should be automated. There is no shortage of work.
Outside of work, I chair the committee for Troop 3054, the local Scout troop based in Schenectady. I serve on the Schalmont Central School District Board of Education. My wife is a third grade teacher. We have two kids in the district, both Schalmont students.
What ties it together
If anything ties all of this together, it is the same instinct that pulled me into that first board meeting. Notice the thing. Ask the question. Build the system that keeps it from breaking again next year. Then move on to the next thing.
